These units, due to their versatility, are very useful for assistance in emergency situations, such as floods and fires, as well as for pumping mud, dirty water, sewage, etc.
These new units are of vital importance for the renewal of the existing fleet of equipment, and reinforce the response capacity of the various intervention teams, such as the Fire Department, Civil Protection, and Municipal Water and Sanitation Companies.

The Municipality of Albufeira, aiming to strengthen the capacity of municipal services and the Albufeira Fire Department, to intervene in events resulting from adverse weather conditions, such as floods, has acquired two heavy motor pumps.
In a press release, the corporation mentions that among the acquired equipment is the Super Betsy motor pump, with special features, unique in the country, to be used by the Fire Department in situations that require high pumping capacity in protection and rescue operations. This makes available equipment with a pumping capacity of 600,000 liters/hour, which can be used in case of serious flooding accidents, but also to supply water to vehicles and other firefighting equipment, from natural and/or artificial springs.
