The apparent viscosity of unfilled asphalt is evaluated by a rotational viscometer that measures the torque generated by a calibrated spindle rotating at a selected speed in a bitumen sample heated to a precise temperature in the range between room temperature and 260 °C. The measured relative rotational resistance is converted by a factor into viscosity units, cP or mPa.sMain features
